So far this summer...

First of all, I am sorry I haven't posted anything in a while... but since I have maybe 1 or 2 readers, its not that big of a faux pas!

Well, we started the summer by doing a major overhaul of my Mom's backyard.  The biggest and most labor-intensive project was the fence.  We worked our butts off - if only that were literally true - and the fence looks awesome.  I became "Queen of the Circular Saw" (yes, that's an official title), Sam learned how to use a hammer, and Brent, poor, hardworking Brent, did about 1/2 of the work even though there were 4 of us total.  He is so strong! The fence looks GREAT!

We ended up making new flower beds, moving around plants (including the BRUTAL sago palm), and putting some awesome flowers/plants in the ground.  The backyard looks like a totally new place.  All of this was done A) to make the backyard look good again and B) in preparation of Samantha's Graduation Party, which was a blast!  We had fajitas, a margarita machine (which Sam's dog, Piper, was terrified of), and plenty of good, solid fun!

We also took my dad to the St. Arnold's Brewery for Father's Day.  The libations were perfect,  and we had a built in Designated Driver, Sam (poor Sammy poo can't have gluten), which was good because we had so much fun drinking and playing chickenfoot that we never actually made it to the Brewery Tour! Oops.

Sammy and her gluten free beverage!

July 4th was hot, but so fun!  We went to the Katy Mills Mall parking lot with the Konesheck crew, as usual. Brent was wondering why we got there so early because it was so hot... well apparently the mall rent-a-cops thought that it was strange as well because they stopped by our area (full of tables and EZ Ups) and gave us a full inquisition as to whether or not we were selling anything.  It was entertaining to watch Michael fend them off.

Michael cooked gourmet burgers with all the fancy gourmet fixin's (sautéed onions, mushrooms, pickles, bacon, cheese, jalapeños, you name it) and we LOVED the fireworks! After a fun expedition with Heather and Samantha to find a restroom for Samantha (which didn't quite work out the way we planned), we headed home.

Brent and I were in Austin on Lake Travis July 10th for Aquapalooza.  It was a TON of fun!  Brad Paisley was the headliner and was joined by some up and coming country stars.  We got up at 5am on Saturday morning, left Drew and Lillian's house around 5:45am, put our 3 boats (Justin's, Mitch's and Paul's) in the water by 8am and stayed on the lake partied until 8pm!   Needless to say, we got a lot of sun and pretty horrible sunburns - I am still recuperating after 2 weeks.  I hope we can go back next year because I had an absolute blast!

These are some happy dudes!
